Glofox alternative
A Glofox alternative built for European gyms
Glofox was acquired by ABC Fitness Solutions in August 2022 and rebranded ABC Glofox in March 2023. Since then, operators across G2, Capterra, and Trustpilot have flagged the same pattern: auto-renewing contracts with cancellation friction, price increases, support that goes quiet after signup, and the fully white-label Standalone App sitting behind a paid add-on. The platform still does what it always did - but EU compliance and exit terms have not kept pace.
Shredeo is an EU-native gym management platform. No multi-year lock-in. Direct SEPA Direct Debit - not a GoCardless wrapper. Native PEPPOL e-invoicing for the Belgian B2B mandate that took effect January 2026. Native English, French, and Dutch. Full data export included, anytime, from the dashboard.
When Glofox is still the right call
Glofox is a legitimate product with a real base of operators who like it. There are cases where switching is not worth the effort:
-
You run a boutique class-pack studio - yoga, pilates, barre, spin, martial arts - where the drop-in / class-pack model is the whole business, and Glofox's studio-first UX maps 1:1 to how you operate.
-
You are already inside the ABC Fitness ecosystem (GymSales for sales CRM, Trainerize for coaching, FitnessBI for analytics). The integrated stack will scale you from single-studio to chain without a re-platform.
-
You operate primarily in English-speaking markets (Ireland, UK, US, Australia) where GoCardless and Stripe coverage is strongest and the Standalone App add-on justifies its cost through App Store discoverability.
If none of that describes you, keep reading.

If EU compliance should not be an afterthought
Glofox supports SEPA Direct Debit - that much is true, primarily via the GoCardless integration and Stripe's SEPA rails. The texture matters, though. Glofox's own documentation describes a single retry on failed SEPA debits, which for a gym with a typical share of insufficient-funds declines means more manual chasing, more unpaid months slipping through, and - in 2024–25 - a wave of new member-facing late fees, NSF fees, and annual fees that operators layer on to recover losses.
On the invoicing side, the Belgian B2B PEPPOL mandate took effect January 2026 and other EU member states are rolling out similar rules. Glofox does not publicly document PEPPOL support as of April 2026, so gyms that invoice corporate wellness clients, franchisees, or other businesses have to bolt on a separate PEPPOL access point. Shredeo ships direct SEPA Direct Debit (not wrapped via GoCardless) with pre-notification, mandate revocation, batch reconciliation, and SEPA 2026 compliance - plus native PEPPOL UBL generation and transmission out of the box. Your accountant stops needing side tools.
If you're tired of contract traps and exit friction
Glofox pricing is quote-only, so the real comparison depends on your plan, app needs, contract length, integrations and payment setup. Public third-party ranges can be useful as a warning sign, but they should be confirmed directly in a proposal before you compare vendors. Reviewers on Trustpilot and Capterra still make one point worth checking carefully: contract terms and renewal conditions matter as much as the headline monthly fee.
The exit story is where the friction concentrates. Reviewers describe month-long confirmation chains to cancel, continued billing past the intended cancellation date, sales pressure on the way out, and support responsiveness that drops off once you have signalled intent to leave. The free inbound migration Glofox advertises has no clean equivalent on the way out - member records export is fine, but a bulk outbound export covering attendance, transactions, class history, and waivers is not clearly documented.
Shredeo has no multi-year contract. Full data export to CSV, Excel, and JSON is always included, available from the dashboard at any time - not gated to a cancellation window. If Shredeo is not working for you, we would rather you leave cleanly than trap you in.
If you want AI that touches operations, not just marketing
Glofox's 2026 AI lineup is focused on marketing and retention: the AI Churn Predictor flags at-risk members, automated re-engagement sequences nudge them back, and lighter quality-of-life touches (tags, email preview, task-status automation) smooth the day. It is useful, and if your main problem is that leavers slip out silently, it helps. What it does not do is change the state of your gym - bookings, check-ins, payments, reports still move through the same manual clicks.
Shredeo connects its AI assistant to verified dashboard actions that help your team execute real operational work: creating and searching clients, scheduling classes, booking and cancellation flows, check-ins, payment reminders, KPI dashboards, revenue and attendance reports, data export, client insights, segment-based email sends, and more. Instead of a model that predicts churn and hands the task back to a human, you get AI that helps run the retention play under staff permissions, with actions logged for auditability.
If you're not planning to live inside the ABC Fitness ecosystem
Since the ABC Fitness acquisition, Glofox's strategic centre of gravity has shifted toward a bundled stack: GymSales for sales CRM, Trainerize for coaching and programming, FitnessBI for business intelligence. If you are an ambitious chain planning to grow into that scale, the tight integration is a real advantage - one vendor relationship, one roadmap, one login. The ecosystem pulls upward.
If you are an independent single-site operator, a CrossFit box, or a small regional chain that wants best-of-breed tools picked deliberately, that same ecosystem becomes drag. Unannounced upgrades have broken integrations in the past. Multi-studio members report login friction between sites. The integrations you actually want for payments, music, community, analytics, and member messaging compete with the platform's own suggestions. Shredeo stays independent: you keep control of the tools around your gym instead of inheriting a parent-company roadmap.
What the Shredeo Marketing Engine adds
Most gym software uses "marketing engine" to mean scheduled email campaigns, maybe SMS, and a few retention templates. That helps, but it still leaves staff exporting lists, chasing no-shows manually, and running community moments outside the system.
Shredeo connects email automation, in-app notifications, direct messaging, community challenges, and AI-assisted member segments to live gym data: bookings, attendance, payments, membership status, and churn signals. That makes growth work more operational: win-back sequences, no-show nudges, renewal prompts, challenge announcements, and targeted follow-ups can run from the same place as your bookings and billing.
How to migrate from Glofox to Shredeo
- Check your cancellation timing. Reviewers report 12-month minimums with auto-renewal on Glofox contracts - your actual notice period and renewal date are in your signed contract, not on the public site. Pull it out now. Missing the window usually means a full additional term.
- Trigger the member export before you signal exit. Glofox supports an Excel export of member records from the dashboard. Run it while your relationship with support is still warm - reviewers describe bulk data access getting harder once cancellation is in motion. If you need attendance, transactions, or class history, email support@glofox.com and request it in writing.
- We import. Our onboarding team maps your Glofox entities into Shredeo's schema - clients, memberships, class packs, attendance history, staff roles and permissions, branded assets. Typical import for a single-location gym takes under a week.
- Re-authorise payments. Stored card and SEPA mandate tokens do not transfer between processors - this is a payment-network rule, not a Shredeo one. We send your members a branded re-authorisation flow through email and the member portal, then track completion during the parallel run.
- Run in parallel. Keep Glofox active for 2–4 weeks while Shredeo handles bookings, check-ins, and new payments. Watch for the post-cancellation billing tail reviewers describe, and reconcile carefully before closing the Glofox account for good.

Is Shredeo a direct replacement for Glofox?
For independent gyms, CrossFit boxes, and boutique studios operating in continental Europe - yes. Shredeo covers the core Glofox use cases (class scheduling, bookings, member profiles, recurring billing, check-in, staff permissions, reporting) and adds the EU-specific pieces Glofox deprioritises post-ABC acquisition: native PEPPOL e-invoicing, direct SEPA Direct Debit (not wrapped via GoCardless), a full French and Dutch dashboard, and no multi-year contract. For boutique class-pack studios already embedded in the ABC Fitness ecosystem (GymSales, Trainerize, FitnessBI), Glofox may still be the better fit.
How does Shredeo's pricing compare to Glofox?
Glofox pricing is quote-only, and public third-party ranges can become outdated quickly once add-ons, app setup and contract terms are included. Shredeo is currently in preorder and does not lock customers into multi-year commitments. For current Shredeo pricing, book a demo - we share figures on request rather than gating them behind long sales cycles.
What about getting my data out of Glofox?
Glofox supports Excel export of member records. A formal bulk export of everything - attendance history, transaction history, class history, waivers - is not clearly documented; operators typically email support@glofox.com to request it. Shredeo includes full CSV, Excel, and JSON export of all data from the dashboard, available at any time - not only during a cancellation window.
Do I keep my branded mobile app when moving to Shredeo?
Glofox's fully white-label Standalone App (your own App Store / Play Store listing) is a paid add-on on top of the base plan. Shredeo ships white-label mobile apps with deep brand treatment: app name, icon, splash screen, color system, member flows, notifications, and content shaped around your gym's identity - not a generic shell with one accent color changed. Be honest with yourself about whether the Standalone App listing is actually driving downloads, or whether a deeply branded Shredeo app gets the same result without the add-on fee.
Is Shredeo GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Shredeo is built in the EU for EU operators. Member data is stored and processed in the European Union under GDPR. Every gym workspace has strict data separation, granular staff permissions (five roles, 50+ permissions), a cascading account-deletion workflow for right-to-be-forgotten requests, and a GDPR audit log that records who accessed or exported what. SEPA mandates include legally-required pre-notification and full mandate revocation.
How do we migrate from Glofox to Shredeo?
Trigger your Glofox member export early - reviewers report that full data access becomes awkward once cancellation is in motion, and that billing sometimes continues past the cancellation date. We import the standard Glofox CSV/Excel export (clients, memberships, class packs, attendance). Recurring billing tokens do not transfer between processors (this is a Stripe/payment-network rule, not a Shredeo one), so members will need to re-authorise - we send them a branded re-authorisation flow. Typical full migration is 2–4 weeks running both systems in parallel.
